Hummus Recipe

Hummus is so versatile. We all know it’s the perfect accompaniment to crudites but it works equally well as a crust for fish and chicken. It’s also incredibly easy to make and by making it yourself you’re guaranteed there are no hidden preservatives, making it extra healthy.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 tin 410g chickpeas
  • 1/8 cup liquid from can of chickpeas
  • 3T lemon juice
  • 1T tahini
  • 1 clove garlic
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2T olive oil
  • ½ tsp cumin

Instructions: 

  • Place the chickpeas in the processor and blend until smooth.
  • Add the balance of the ingredients and blend again until smooth.
  • Store in the fridge.

You can serve this tasty hummus with toasted pita bread or some julienne carrots and cucumber.
