Cranberry Sauce with Orange Zest
Cranberry Sauce is a great traditional accompaniment for roast dishes. This recipe delicious recipe for cranberry sauce has a twist on the traditional by adding orange zest into the flavouring, and is easy to make.
Serves 6-8
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups fresh or dried cranberries (If you are using dry cranberries you will need to soak them in a water overnight)
- Juice from 1 large orange
- 1 cup honey
- ¼ cup water
- 1 teaspoon orange zest, plus more for garnish
Instructions:
- In a large pot, add in fresh cranberries, orange juice, honey and water. Stir to combine and turn heat to medium-high until mixture is boiling.
- Reduce heat and let simmer for about ten minutes.
- Turn off heat and stir in orange zest. Make sure to let it cool at room temperature, so that the cranberry sauce will continue to thicken.
- Pour into a gravy boat and serve immediately.
