Cranberry Sauce with Orange Zest

Cranberry Sauce is a great traditional accompaniment for roast dishes. This recipe delicious recipe for cranberry sauce has a twist on the traditional by adding orange zest into the flavouring, and is easy to make.

Serves 6-8

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups fresh or dried cranberries (If you are using dry cranberries you will need to soak them in a water overnight)
  • Juice from 1 large orange
  • 1 cup honey
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest, plus more for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a large pot, add in fresh cranberries, orange juice, honey and water. Stir to combine and turn heat to medium-high until mixture is boiling.
  2. Reduce heat and let simmer for about ten minutes.
  3. Turn off heat and stir in orange zest. Make sure to let it cool at room temperature, so that the cranberry sauce will continue to thicken.
  4. Pour into a gravy boat and serve immediately.
